HIV Treatments Are Progressing

Human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) is one of the deadliest viruses today. Science and technology are working together to bring us closer to a cure for the virus. T cells belong to a group of white blood cells known as lymphocytes, and play a central role in cell-mediated immunity. Studies are showing that genetically modified T cells can treat patients with HIV by keeping them healthy for up to 11 years.
