Wanted: iPad for Kidney

As we briefly mentioned last week during our debate on scarce organs, a 17-year-old boy from China reportedly sold his kidney on the black market in exchange for $3,500 to buy a new Apple iPad. Since the operation, authorities have indicted five people in Southern China on illegal organ trading charges. As for the boy, he is currently suffering from renal failure.
