According to the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, their latest report predicts that by 2030 42% of the population in the United States will be obese. This is another indicator of the obesity problem in America. Also because of this increase in obesity it would cost an additional 550 billion dollars for patients who are becoming obese. Obesity not only raises one's health care costs but also raises one person's risk at diabetes, heart disease, etc. It appears that the overlying cause of the increase in obesity is modern convenience which doesnt necessarily help one's health. The authors of this report suggested that recreational facilities, improved urban design, and work-site health promotion can help raise obesity awareness as well as the continuing effort to find new drugs and technologies.
