When the pieces of memory are scattered - Alzheimers

Phil Kritner, 71, of Portland, suffers from mild cognitive impairment. An early stage of dementia that researchers consider a prime window of opportunity to try potential treatments to stop the progression of memory loss and cognitive decline. Not everyone with the condition will worsen and develop Alzheimers, but there are certain signatures in the brain that allude to its development. Plaques form from a protein called beta amyloid, this indicates a high likelihood of Alzheimers in patients who are already having memory loss problems. Currently Phil debates whether or not to take the early identification MRI and PET scans.
